MONKEE GRIP / SCHOOLS & SPORTS TEAMS

Grip training that fits your team’s workout.

From football weight rooms to wrestling programs, build grip-focused carries, pulls and holds into the training your team already does. Start with a few coached stations and adjust the challenge for each athlete.

FOR COACHES & PROGRAM LEADERS

Make the hands part of the session.

A useful addition to a weight room needs a clear role. Choose exercises that fit your sport, your available equipment and each athlete’s current ability.

Supported pulls & holds

Use a suitable anchor in front of the athlete for a supported lean or row. Keep the feet grounded and adjust the angle so the athlete can maintain control.

Carries & holds

Introduce grip-focused carries using compatible equipment and the correct setup. Start with manageable loads and a clear lane, leaving space for controlled lowering.

Cable exercises

Use the Cable Adapter Kit with compatible cable machines for rows, pulldowns and other suitable exercises. Adjustable resistance lets you match the challenge to the movement.

No full bodyweight hang is required to start. A coach should select the exercise, load and progression for each athlete.

COUNT STATIONS, NOT JUST ATHLETES

A roster of 20 may only need five stations.

Illustrative planning example: split 20 athletes into four groups of five. One group uses five grip stations while the others complete the rest of your coach-designed circuit. Rotate groups when ready.

Rotate groups so each gets a turn at the grip stations. Your coach chooses the other activities, work periods and rest.

Illustrative rotation—not a floor plan. Space, equipment and supervision determine your setup.

Five pairs in use

One athlete uses each pair at a time. Five stations support five simultaneous users—not the entire roster at once.

Four groups rotate

Each group gets a turn at the grip station. Choose work, rest and transitions to suit the exercise and your session plan.

Space and supervision decide

You still need suitable anchors or equipment for each active station, adequate clearance and enough coaching attention. Roster size alone cannot determine a safe layout.

TEAM SETUP

10 stations

More athletes training simultaneously or several groups sharing a weight room.

FACILITY SETUP

25 stations

A larger program or equipment distributed across multiple training areas.

One station starts with one pair of grips. Bars, racks, cable machines and mounting infrastructure are not included. Hardware and slings are itemized when needed. Custom quantities are welcome.

MATCH THE TOOL TO THE SESSION

Choose by exercise and environment.

Tell us what your athletes will do and what equipment you already have. We’ll use that information to help configure the quote.

Grip options

Original Jute is one starting option. Black Cotton offers a different feel with less initial shedding. Level 2’s smaller diameter adds a different challenge; it can also suit lighter cable exercises without requiring a two-minute hang.

Shared-use setup

Ask about GymPro reinforcement for shared training equipment. Follow setup and inspection guidance for every pair, and remove worn or damaged equipment from use.

Attachment hardware

Cable adapters connect grips to suitable cable attachment points. Extension slings provide additional reach where appropriate. Confirm the required fit and hardware for each station.

Using a bar? See the three-step attachment guide

This guide covers bar attachment. Cable adapters and extension slings have their own setup requirements.

Attach Monkee Grips to a suitable bar: loop over the bar, feed the grip through the loop, and pull the hitch tight. Grip the rope only; the black band is not a handle.

START WITH A COACHED INTRODUCTION

Give the first session a simple job.

Use the first session to check fit, teach the setup and establish controlled movement. You do not need a maximum-hang competition to introduce grip training.

  1. Demonstrate and check

Inspect the grips, anchor and connectors. Demonstrate setup and check every connection before the athlete starts.

  2. Begin with support or a light load

Keep the exercise within the athlete’s ability to control. Adjust support, angle or resistance instead of expecting the entire team to use one difficulty.

  3. Record a repeatable starting point

Note the exercise, grip type, support or load and how the athlete controlled it. End the set before control is lost and progress gradually.

FROM COACH TO PURCHASING OFFICE

Make the request easy to review.

A clear equipment list helps your athletic director or purchasing office understand the proposal.

Tell us about the program

Include the school or club name, sport, roster size, simultaneous users, available equipment, delivery location and target start date.

Request the paperwork you need

Use the hub form to flag a formal quote, purchase-order review, W-9/vendor setup or tax-exemption review. We will coordinate the next steps directly.

Confirm before committing

Final pricing, sample availability, shipping, PO acceptance and payment terms require written confirmation. A request does not place an order or establish credit terms.

Questions coaches ask

Does every athlete need a pair?

Not necessarily. For a shared setup, plan around how many athletes use the grips simultaneously. Athletes can rotate through the same stations. If you want individual take-home equipment, tell us that when requesting a quote.

Do athletes need to be able to hang or do a pull-up?

No. Supported leans, rows and suitable light cable exercises can provide starting options. A coach should choose the exercise and level of support for each athlete.

Can we choose different grip levels?

Ask for a mixed configuration in your quote. Choose by exercise and individual ability. Level 2 is not limited to athletes who can hang for two minutes.

Can we try a sample before ordering?

You can request an evaluation sample through the hub form. Include who will test it, the intended exercises and your timeline. Eligibility, any cost and availability are confirmed individually.

Do you offer school purchase orders or tax-exempt orders?

Flag your requirements before checkout so we can review documentation and confirm the ordering process. PO acceptance, payment terms and exemption eligibility are not automatic.
